WHY PARTICIPATE? Do you want scholarship money? Do you want to have a 4-year college scholarship fully paid? Do you want national and international recognition? Do you want the admiration and respect of your peers? Then participate in the high school science symposium which is a student training program to prepare you for the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium -JSHS. This program allows students to conduct and present original research in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), the very areas that are so essential to the well-being of our country and world.

The Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) Program is jointly sponsored by the United States Departments of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, in cooperation withe leading research universities throughout the nation. The Department of Defense generously provides funding for the National symposium and JSHS scholarships.

The Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) Program promotes original research and experimentation in the sciences, engineering, technology, and mathematics(STEM) at the high school level and publicly recognizes students for outstanding achievement. By connecting talented students, their teachers, and research professionals at affiliated symposia and by rewarding research excellence, JSHS aims to widen the pool of trained talent prepared to conduct research and development vital to our nation.

The JSHS Program has been approved by the National Association for Secondary School Principals.
